Can I set up Individual Users for my POS App?


One of the benefits of the 3dcart POS App is that you can use your iPad device as a portable register – for example, at your retail location. As such, you also have the ability to create different user accounts that will use the iPad device for POS generated orders. By default, you are the main administrative user for the POS App, but you can add as many users as needed to meet your needs.

To add a new user:

  1. Tap the “Users” option in the Settings menu
  2. Look towards the top right of the interface and tap the +Icon
  3. Specify a Name for the new user
  4. Add a PIN that the new user will utilize to log into the POS App
  1. If you would like for this user to also have Admin capability, tap the “Admin” toggle switch to on.
  2. Make sure the “Enable” toggle switch is on
  3. Finally, tap the “Add User” bar to have the user’s login PIN added to the POS App.

When logging into the POS App, your new user will need to enter their PIN to have all sales recorded under their account.

Additional Information
If the user is set as an “Admin,” they will have access to every portion of the POS App including its settings and synchronization sections. They will also have the ability to add additional users. Therefore, use caution when setting someone up with Admin rights.

To edit, disable or delete a user

If you ever need to edit or disable a user from the POS App:

  1. Tap the “Users” option in the Settings menu
  2. Tap on the user’s name in the app

From here, you will have the option of editing the user’s name and PIN, Grant or remove Admin rights, or enable/disable the user as needed.

On the other hand if you need to completely delete the user from the app:

  1. Tap the “Users” option in the Settings menu
  2. Left swipe on the user’s name in the list
  3. Tap the trash icon to remove them
